So, I bought her an Epson 890. I suppose the next step will be for her to buy an (ugh!) digital camera. And this when she has a beautiful post WWII Topcon that was hand carried by a friend from Japan. Now for the actual subject of this note. I want to buy a flat bed scanner in order to post the occasional color print on the web for you guys to throw stones at. I do not, repeat do not intend to feed the data to a printer--that's what my darkroom is for. Considering that a computer screen has 72 pixels per inch, is there any reason under the sun to get a scanner of higher resolution than 600 x 1200 with 48-bit color, e.g. the Cannon 676U @ $99?
