Subject: [Leica] Re: Uh.... earth to wannabe lawyers

I certainly have nothing personal against lawyers (my son is a lawyer) but
to claim that lawyers don not sometimes act unscrupulosly is absurd.

My only personal contact with a lawyer involved my bicycle club and our
attempt to stop a hospital from using our trademarked event name. The
lawyer we engaged was a specialist in trademark law. When our case finally
got to court (he didn't even appear in person but sent a flunky) it was
immediately dismissed because the law said that a non-profit could not be
sued for trademark infringement.

It is my belief that a trademark expert knew or should know that from the
beginning. I think he lead us along until he had taken us for over $50,000.
