Here's more food for thought: a decade ago the American Bar Association engaged the Peter Hart Organization to run a survey on public opinion about the legal profession. Some results were unsurprising: lawyers were way down the list of occupations. Several were startling of which this was perhaps the most: over 70% of the respondents amswered "but my lawyer is terrific." That should tell us something. - ----------------------- Unfortunately, Seth, it tells us nothing. Because it's right in line with surveys of most 'despised' professions. Take Congress, for example...Most people think all politicians are lying pond scum - with the exception of their local Congressperson - assuming they know who their local Congressperson is. ;-) The lesson: If someone helps you personally, they are noble and good - even if what they have done for you is murder your spouse for $50.
