Rooff of Waterloo, IA, to photograph a DAY IN THE LIFE of the mayor. This week's PAW and alternates are from that day. I had approached the mayor a few weeks earlier when I ran in to him at a bar. After a few beers I mustered up the courage (Leonard Cohen calls it "Johnny Walker wisdom") to propose the idea to him. He liked it and last week I showed up with cameras and film at 8:00 A.M. and stayed through that evening's city council meeting, which is depicted in the 2d alternate.
