I'm really not such a moron that after 17 years of writing about medical research and health care delivery I don't know the difference between temporal and causal relationships. ;-) HOWEVER - I have no doubt what so ever that the asthma problems are at least partially related to my breathing in, and breathing deeply, far far greater levels of urban pollution than I had ever before subjected my lungs to. But that aside, I really enjoyed the biking, and hope to return to it one of these days. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Tom Finnegan Sent: Friday, March 15, 2002 12:52 PM To: 'leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us' Subject: RE: [Leica] OT Wandering: Motor Scooters B.D. Noted: Then I began biking. Got the biking up to 6 miles every day, and up to 35 miles on some weekend days. Really enjoyed it. Lost 45 pounds... And within a year I had developed a hernia, severe chronic sinusitis - and really hairy chronic asthma. ************************************ So, you are saying that small to moderate levels of biking causes hernias, chronic sinusitis, and chronic asthma? That is quite the medical finding I'd say! Do you carry a camera with you? I pretty much always have my IIIf and 50/3.5 or 35/2.8 with me in my messenger bag or jersey pocket. Perhaps the Leica glow has protected me from these ailments?!
