Tina,

I would doubt if McCurry has seen much profit from the picture of the girl -
most NG assignments require that copyright is transferred to them for any
images actually used in the magazine from the assignment (thought the
photographer generally retains a right to use the image in their own books,
retrospectives etc). Anything outside the final select remains copyright to
the photographer!

Though it could be different in this case.
