Subject: [Leica] Question regarding MDa conversion
From: Larry Frey <lcfrey@earthlink.net>

Hi.

I just joined your Leica users' group today. I had to after buying a pile of
Leica gear off a guy last week and then not understanding what half of it
really was (although I've shot with a CLE for years and have also used
Leica's professionally at times).

At any rate, I'm delighted to have such a brain trust at my disposal.

So, I now have, among other things, 4 mint looking MDa's (circa 1967,
evidently) wrapped in bubble wrap in front of me. I was told these can be
converted to M4's by Leica in Germany for about 800 Euros each.

True?

Any downside to have this surgery performed other than the cost? Should I
keep one of the MDa's as it is because the "L" seal is still in place? 2
have "T" seals. One has no seal.

Thanks,
Larry Frey
