I finished the roll and as I stopped he introduced himself. Turns out he's an American living in Paris and asked if I could send him some prints to send to his parents in the States. We had a brief discussion, I took his address and I said I'd send him a CD with some of the shots on it. I then took the bottom of the M6. As I'm taking the bottom off I asked myself if I'd rewound the film. The short answer is no I hadn't. Enter one totally ruined roll of Tri-X :-( Moral, never get _too_ distracted with a Leica Steve - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Ray Moth Sent: 12 March 2002 08:30 To: LEG; LUG; MUsers Forum Subject: [Leica] "The Dreaded Shirt Tail Syndrome" ... or ... "Confessions of a Silly Sausage" Well, I finally did it! I suppose it was ineveitable that I would, one day, close the base (actually, the motor) on my M6 TTL without closing the back. Left it hanging out like a shirt tail, I did, and got through half a roll of film before I noticed. "Well I never!" I thought to myself, "What a turn-up for the book!" (or words to that effect). In my panic, I rewound the film, opened the base, reloaded it, closed the back and the base (properly, this time) and wound on, using the motor, to the position the film was in when I noticed my error, then took one more blank frame. This was probably a complete waste of time because all the shots taken previously must be ruined, I would think. I feel like a nincompoop (but where am I gong to find one this time of day?) :o{ Regards, ===== Ray - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
