I have obtained the cooperation of Yahoo and have identified its sender. A couple of weeks ago I posted to the LUG a message that included these paragraphs. Please read them. Date: Tue, 26 Feb 2002 14:34:18 -0800 From: Brian Reid <reid@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Buried Hatchets ... In the 10 years the LUG has existed I have only booted people five times; three of the five were the same person, who I let back on and then booted a second time, and then a third time. So I've kicked 3 people off the LUG in 10 years. One of the 3 is now back on as a posting member and, since he's been behaving himself, I'm willing to have him back. Another one of them is back as a lurker, but hasn't actually posted anything under his new address. See the part where I said "since he's been behaving himself"? Well, as it turns out, he isn't: this latest diatribe sent from an assumed name was sent by the same person that I booted for doing something similar a few years ago. If I recall correctly he was at that time using the name "Arnold Sung". In recent months he's been posting under his own name. I will of course remove him immediately; I see no point in telling you who it is, because he will just claim I'm wrong, and the discussion will waste everyone's time. I don't even remember who he slammed last time. There's nothing I can do to keep him, or anybody, off the list, because anyone can get a mailbox and join a mailing list. But I can make it harder for him to post. I often say on this list that insulting others is a waste of time because no one changes his opinion of another because of what you say about him. This kind of posting is a perfect example of that. Marc, I'll tell you who the attacker was if you promise to keep the knowledge to yourself. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
