I thought I would share some stupid photographer tricks with the group. I
managed to do all these in less than an hour at a single event!

My daughter's school had a "Unity Day" celebration yesterday. I was one of
the parent volunteers to take pictures. The main event was a demonstration
by a Flamenco dance troupe from Madrid and then a performance of some
African rhythm dances by the 5th grade Unity Club of which my daughter is a
member.

Here is the list of stupid mistakes:

1) Took at least two frames with lense cap on. (Why do they supply things, I
now wonder?)

2) Left 90mm Summicron in camera bag at back of auditorium.

3) Failed to load Nikon F100 before leaving house so had to stop and load
film during performance resulting in:

    a) Misload
    b) Finally got loaded but forgot last time I used camera had it set to
self-timer! Can't see settings in the dark (not sure if shows in viewfinder
or not?)
    c) When changing setting from self-timer mode inadvertently set it for
double exposure. I fired off 4 great action shots before realizing frame
counter wasn't moving!!
    d) Got camera set to correct film advance mode and then it wouldn't get
of frame 3. Had to open camera, yank out film and reload!

4)After all this it was time to reload M6 and I had two mis-loads as I was
so p!@#ed.

End result was I missed most of the good action shots of the dancers.
Finally, I missed part my daughter's group while having trouble changing
lenses on the M6.

Life was so simple when I had the F5 and an 80-200 zoom.

What did I learn! Not to volunteer for school events. (-;

Actually, I learned alot. The biggest thing is one camera, one lense, one
film. Now, where have I heard that before ....

Have a great weekend.
