Laugh all you want, folks, but if the specs are true, this Leica effort is a pretty impressive package for the price. The lens is faster than most in the class, what appears to be a hefty focusing ring is very a very nice improvement over most of the competition. And, dare I say it - and I recognize this is purely a matter of personal taste - I kind of like the design - precisely because it is a throw back to the Argus "brick," and because it bears a vague resemblance to a film camera of yore. I'd be the last to suggest that the appearance has a damn thing to do with its value as a photographic tool - but it looks pretty interesting as a photographic tool for someone who doesn't want to jump into digital with both feet and an empty wallet.
