One VERY minor quibble about this excellent post. Save for a relatively small number of FED lenses and basic Industar 50mm lenses, all of the magnificent galaxy of SPS lenses emenate from Russia, NOT the Ukraine. KMZ, Lytkarino, Zagorsk, and Kazan produce the 5.6/20 Russar MR-2, the 6/28 Orion-15, the 2.8/35 Jupiter-12, the 2/50 Jupiter-8, the 1.5/50 Jupiter-3, the 2/85 Jupiter-9, and the 4/135 Jupiter-11.
