The M7 has an electronically "controlled" shutter. The electronics in the 
M7 will send a signal to the HSS flash unit when the first or second 
curtain of the shutter (your choice) starts to move in making an exposure.

No M camera, other than the M7, has this capability since their shutters 
are mechanically controlled.
