You are quite right!
but try detuning that copal or seiko 
to the point where curtain speed is giving flash sync
at around 1/50th and I garantee you it will be as
quiet as the M. And I'm pretty sure it could still hit
the 1000 mark, maybe even 2000 every time since the
gap is more accurately controlled electronically.
