The old rivets are drilled out, then the hole diameter is measured, a properly fit new rivet is chosen from a selection of different diameters, then that rivet is put back in. What I am saying is that unless you onow the new hole diameter, trying to do this on your own may be fruitless..... I am assuming the M6 has a similar design to the strap lugs as does the M2.
