It is the main artery of a network of pedestrian streets in the center of the city. Just recently, some very interesting statues have been put up on the street, and people cannot help staring at them. Some hate them, others like them, but nobody seems to be neutral: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_8.jpg North of Copenhagen is a place called Louisiana. It is one of those rare art museums that is supported entirely by private funds, and it is one of the foremost show places for modern visual art in Scandinavia. I always find something interesting there when I go, and in the past I have seen the (in)famous Mapplethorpe exhibit, Cartier-Bresson's "The Europeans", the big Magnum show and many other major exhibits there. This time I went to see a Georgia O'Keefe retrospective, but this particular room is part of the permanent collection: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_8alt1.jpg The museum is in a beautiful park near the beach north of the city and is highly recommended for a day trip when visiting Copenhagen. Both pictures taken with the M3 and 50mm (main) / 35mm (alternate) Summiluxes, on Ilford SFX accidentally overexposed by two stops--I tried to tone down the resulting grain in the scanning process, but with only limited success. Nevertheless, I obviously like the shots, otherwise I would not have posted them...
