My best success was with the 400mm from mid way up the stands. They way they set up the rings here with a table you sit at between you and the ropes, you cannot get close enough to shoot under the ropes. I did do a Womens World some thing or another and used a 50mm Summicron and a 180mm APO Summicron from the ring side. The 180 gave nice tight shots with lots of the Leica punch! I should have brought my 400mm and shot from the stands. I would have had better shots. http://home.istar.ca/~robsteve/photography/Sports.htm A shot from the 180mm APO Summicron is here. The Canon lens of this size is about the same price and probably has equivalent performance. http://home.istar.ca/~robsteve/photography/images/Sports/hackel6.jpg Regards, Robert At 07:33 PM 2/22/2002 -0800, S Dimitrov wrote: >As of yet I don't see rates that can place a Leica in a working >photographer's kit.
