B.D. - my take on this is that it's great for Leicaphiles to have someone
like Cosina pushing the envelope and nipping at the heels of Leica. Prior
to Cosina the Wetzlar/Solms folks moved in strange and mysterious ways. Now
they should be scared and may want to use their vantage point to make a few
changes.

I also can't remember in recent times when RF'ers have had this much going
on in a single month - sort of being like a SLR'er who have many more
choices and announcement ever 30 min. about some new Nikon, Canon, Sigma,
Pentax thing to buy.

Now the choice: M7 vs. M7 AND R2 - wife says the bank account shows M3.5!
Probably will be M7 as I am AE kind of guy

Why is it cynical to introduce a good competitive product aimed at taking a
chunk of the market that Leica, or any other manufacturer for that matter,
has ignored?

Clever? Yes. Immaginative? Yes. Good business sense? Yes. Marketing 101?
Yes. But cynical? I don't think so. ;-)
