[Leica] Cameras and stuff

Enjoyed speaking with you last evening.
The Leica bodies I'd recommend:
    M6 .72 (classic)
    M6 .72 TTL
    M6 .85 TTL
    M6 .58 TTl
The .58, .72, .85 refers to the magnification of the viewfinders;
where .58 is optimized for wide angle lenses, the .72 for all
lenses, and the .85 for medium to long lenses. Leica also has an
view finder magnifier which will bring the .58 into .72-.85
range.

M2's, M3's, M4's, and M5's haven't been made for 20 to 50 years
and are still highly desireable because of the build quality.
They often sell for as much or more than the current M6 line.

The fast and unsurpassed lenses I'd recommend:
    M 35mm f1.4 Summilux
    M 50mm f1.0 Noctilux
    M 75mm f1.4 Summilux
    
The M f2.0 Summicron lenses are less expensive and unbeatable for
sharpness

The new Apo lenses (90 apo summicron f2.0) are shockingly sharp.

I've included a price list from one of the dealers in NY who
handles a lot of new and used equipment.

When looking at Leica equipment lists be aware that M stands for
the rangefinder line. and R stands for the single lens reflex
line.

One thing to remember when buying and using Leica equipment is
that it holds its resale value extremely well. If you buy used
Leica equipment wisely, you can easily sell it years later for
what you paid for it or more. 

When considering digital cameras quite the opposite is true. The
stuff is obsolete in 6 to 12 months and virtually worthless. As
the newest and greatest is always chasing the price down.
