Not directly, but indirectly there is a perceived value in a great
publication that rubs off on the advertising and is often reflected in
the rate card.

Does an ad in the NY Times carry more credibility than the same ad in
the Post or the National Inquirer, say?  And does running puff pieces
create credibility?   Or boring photos?  It is a tough battle where
editorial contributions are seen in the accounting department as an
expense rather than an asset.
