In reality this was something of a grab shot. I'd focused on the crack in the paving to the right of the kid. I waited until he'd almost got there. Lifted the camera, which attracted his attention, and pressed the shutter. For me the first image is well captured, and probably the best of the edited bunch. Alt 1, needs to have the background even "blacker" so the heads really "hang" in the air. Alt 2 is so close. The movement is great, but the trombones are slicing the heads in half just too much. Alt 3 is spoilt by the big white head in the foreground -- nice though the head may be, and alt 4 just doesn't tell the story as it should, looks like you just missed the moment. The main image may have been improved, if the boy was separated a little so that we could see the ?parents in the background better. I like the "story" of the curious kid and the "chain" of concern from the parents in the background. As an aside, it looks like a spot you might get a "walking on water" shot, judging by the guy on the left in the background ;-) Cheers - -- Alastair Firkin http://www.afirkin.com http://www.familyofman2.com - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
