The distortion at the edges, particularly when focused relatively close, is pretty apparent compared to the M 21 ASPH. But the construction is, as you note, is sad. On the other hand, when you pay $349 for an ASPH/APO, 21 1.8 AF D lens, you can buy, what, seven of them? before you will have paid for one Leica M 21 2.8. So at that price, the construction isn't that much of an issue. B. I had in the past some Sigma lenses: 28-70 f1:2.8, 400mm f1:5.6 and a strange zoom 135-400. The optical quality was never a problem , not in Leica or CZ league of course, they were not bad lenses but the construction quality was so bad...
