That's BS. The Contax AX has focus confirmation also (as well as autofocus...they are one in the same, as you can't have autofocus without some sort of focus confirmation!), and the focus is SPOT on. If you can't see that it is spot on in the viewfinder, then YOU couldn't have done a better job! If you did see it was off, then there was either something wrong with your camera, or you weren't aiming the focus area where you wanted it focused.
