I had a bit of film in >my camera, so I took a few shots. I learned 24mm is much wider than the >50mm and 35mm that I usually use on the M6. Of the ten or so frames I >fired off, most needed to be cropped quite a bit. >[snip] >Robert Ah, the joys of the 24 Elmarit! I agree with Nathan: it's an amazing lens. That said, it does come with a bit of a learning curve. And like any wide-angle, the fact that it does include so much of what's in front of it makes it difficult to avoid clutter. I always use the external VF with it so that I can see what I'm going to get on the film and what I'm able to exclude, and even then I've had a few surprises. One of them is exactly what Tarek has experienced: folks often don't realize shots made with the 24 Elmarit were taken with a wide-angle lens! People have frequently commented when seeing some of my 24 Elmarit pix: I never would have guessed that you used a 24 on this one. I've got a few old 24mm shots on the following site which, for lack of time, I've never added to: http://home.lainet.com/~gbennett/photography/index.html Can you guess which ones? There was also one submission to the FOMII project that was selected for the 1st year's crop taken with the 24: http://users.netconnect.com.au/~firkin/FOM2%20Folder/YearOneExhibit/source/40.ht ml Got a few others here at the house. Stop by and I'll show them to you. Guy - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
