This is an image that needs something.  I can see why you were attracted to
the pier and the fog but there is not enough in the posted image.  What
would have happened if you had shot just the three signs with the fog and
the birds?  Or perhaps the lamp with the birds and the fog?  Or perhaps
there were humans around to add the dreaded human interest factor?  This is
an image that has real possibilities, just spent more time in the spot
exploring the situation.

Whatzzit?  Ok, when some image attracts you sometimes you don't know quite
what is attracting you so you take a general picture.  Most people stop
there.  But if you spend time isolating details and combining elements in
interesting ways using lens focal length and depth of field or its lack most
of the time you will discover what attracted you to the scene and capture
it.  Usually.  If you are lucky and it is a beautiful place it might take
four or five times to capture it. :)
