Subject: [Leica] Is Nikon planning to release a new rangefinder to compete with the Leica M6?

Does anyone know whether the rumor that Nikon is coming out with their own 
updated rangefinder (w/ TTL metering) to compete against the likes of the 
Contax G2 and Leica M6/M7 and Voigtlander Bessa series is actually for real? 
I heard somewhere from others that this "Nikon rangefinder" is supposed to 
be an updated Nikon S3?
