However, by doing that, there is a very high percentage of rectangular hoods that looks loop-sided (not aligned properly) when attached to the lens. While a round hood has no geometrical misalignment, a rectangular hood sure compounds the problem. The lens, bayonet mount, the indentation on the lens AND the rectangular hood must all be aligned properly. Under observation of all my friends rectangular hoods, they all have this misalignment problem and to me its an eye-sore. - --- TMLee <clairetm@singnet.com.sg> wrote: > Dear friends.... > Can the old circular hood with cut-out slots for the > M35/2 (4th version) be > used on the newer M35/2ASPH ? > > Why did they (Leica) decided to produce a > rectangular hood for the ASPH ? > Does this new design cause less obstruction to the > viewfinder path, or > provides better shielding... or what ? > > Peace > TMLee > > > > > > -- > To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
