Sometimes, you can find cameras listed on an auction site as good for 
spare  parts only. Garage sales are a good source, if you are lucky. The 
Salvation Army thrift stores and Goodwill stores  are good sources. You 
have to check regularly as these will walk out at bargain prices. A 
friend of mine got a Nikon FM for $10. Worked perfectly.  Apparently the 
widow of the  owner  donated all his stuff. Never know what you will
