Hi, John

I have been on the Leica Newnet IRC. I don't have much to
contribute and seldom can make an immediate reply. It is
running in a small window in the background of whatever
tasks I am trying to do. As to newnet servers, you just
have to keep trying...usually I am connected through Florida
or Seattle (I am in California). But the best connection
has been through Sweden.

The regular participants in the US are in central or eastern
time zones. Out of country participants are from England
and Australia and are typically posting their time in the
evening after work or very early in the morning.

A lot of personal photographs on web pages are exchanged
that never hit the PAW or LUG. (Never mine, since my
esteemed spouse controls our web page and forget shoving
anything on to it as an immediate example to illustrate
one's point).

Oh, and it used to be a lot more fun before SonC registered
the channel and the BOT took over!!! I haven't been a
channel op since that time ;-((

Join in...if people have time from their jobs, you will
learn a lot. And you will be able to pick up slang terms
from NJ, the Cajun country, British Isles and Australia.
(Important for people from Chi-Town which is the center of
modern American English).

Regards, Bill Larsen, Leica User
