Thanks for you comments Ted...as you observed... this was a very lucky
shot, I will tell you why below.  (and  I will try the swishy pans at one
of the coming events).

The title  I used  here, I think was  misleading. ...my first race, in the
vortex.....was referring  to the  boy, sharp, central and focussed (in the
vortex)  with the race  dashing  on...  in front of and behind him...... I
figured the speed in the foreground would take care of itself....and I was
just very lucky to have this  shot,  with the boy seen  central,  and
between  two racers. ......

which is why I PAWed it.   :-)    thanks, Steve
