I think it was a misadventure in the darkroom. I've shot other rolls of Tri-X and they were not nearly as grainy. So I don't think it's an artifact of the scan. I use a rental darkroom and don't have complete control over the chemistry - so there are things that are a bit beyond me. I'd appreciate thoughts on what I might have done to make them so grainy.
