Just received the book, "New York September 11th, by Magnum
Photographers", courtesy of Smart Papers. Quite powerful. The
photographers discuss their experiences in the brief texts.

Larry Towell was in town for a meeting at Magnum and didn't have
"his" gear. Had "one small, 35mm completely automatic camera. Š I
tried to photograph. My camera didn't work. The green light was
blinking, saying, 'I don't know what to focus on.'"

Gilles Peress text in its entirety, "I don't trust words. I trust
pictures."

Susan Meiselas, "I grabbed two cameras, a Leica and Canon, one
28-105mm lens, and a few rolls of film ‹ two few as it turned
out."

It has been a while since a book of photographs has brought tears
to my eyes - this one did.
