On January 19, 2002, I'm making a pilgrimage to Pittsburgh by train in order to see the W. Eugene Smith exhibit at the Carnegie Museum. The "Plan" is as follows: A scenic, and relaxing train ride across Pennsylvania from Philadelphia (it is Amtrak train # 43) (See www.amtrak.com for details). The train arrives in Pittsburgh at 2:24 PM. Overnight at the Westin Convention Center Hotel (412-281-3700) which is one tenth of a mile from the station. After checking in and weather permitting, taking a ride up the Duquesne Incline to shoot a very dramatic photograph of Pittsburgh at dusk. Followed by dinner and hopefully great conversation. Bokeh will not be discussed. The Carnegie Museum opens at noon on Sunday, so there will be ample time to recover and get breakfast. The return train is Amtrak # 44 and departs at 4:28 PM. I think three hours is enough to look at the exhibit and related materials. My thanks to Stan Yoder of Pittsburgh for supplying some information. If, you are interested in meet me on the train or in Pittsburgh, let me know. Happy Snaps, Sal DiMarco, Jr. Philadelphia, PA PS- Remember seeing the show will help make the conversation in Washington, the following weekend more interesting. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
