Nothing cutting edge here -- just Leica M dumbed down to f/4. About four months ago I bought one used. I love it. We're talkin long-term love here, not quicky romance. Outdoors with a medium-speed film, I simply don't need more light than f/4 gives me and the DOF is usually a plus. Nor do I worry about catching the nth degree of detail in the 28mm setting. The lens is plenty sharp at that length. I just enjoy the convenience of one lens for thee focal lengths. My only regret is that I waited as long as I did. If simplicity and ease of use are Hallmarks of Leica M, this lens fits the tradition in a big way. I haven't traveled with it yet, but I certainly plan to. I'll take some faster, longer, and shorter lenses too; but I'll bet I'll take most of my photos with the T-E. For anyone on the fence about this lens, I'd say go for it. - --Gib - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
