Yes. I guess you're right.

The three laws of thermodynamics (with jargon removed to make them palatable
to the LUG) are certainly poignant:
(1) You can't win.
(2) You won't break even.
(3) No one can quit the game.

But they're really statistical averages that allow one to entertain some
hope that they may not apply on a personal scale.

Conservation of momentum certainly still applies.

Nowadays, whenever I'm on a roll, someone out there apparently turns to
follow and forces me conserve momentum by slowing down or (more likely)
tripping up...

Fortunately, here on the LUG folks automatically run in the opposite
direction from my suggestions. That allows me to conserve momentum and speed
up a bit in my rush to personal destruction... :)
