Interesting post. Why do you want to chrome the lens shade? So that the sun
will reflect off it and blind you as you look through the viewfinder?;-)

Subject: [Leica] silver-chroming parts, how, where, possible?

Hi,
I recently saw the new titanium line, and realized the vented lens shade for
the 35mm was also titanised. I was wondering if someone could help me in my
idea:

I own the new 35mm summicron asph and found a vented lens shade that fit on
it, but it is, as usual, black on its outer side.

I would like to know if someone has ever silver chromed this kind of piece,
or if someone know where I could have this done, all advice welcome. I'm
searching real silver-chroming, not paint it in silver, this is quite
different ;-). I also know ther is some differences and incompatibilities
between the metal and the type of chroming (explaining so the difference of
wheigt between the black and silver optics), is it possible to overcome
this?

Thank you in advance
