Jeff:

You want to get the corporation's attention as well as your photos?

As a former corporate sort I recommend:

- -- Write to the Corporate Public Relations Department, one or two paragraphs
max telling why you're writing, then bulletpoint the sequence of events,
including time, day and location.

- -- Close by telling them in your call-to-action last paragraph what you want
- -- a photo -- don't just grumble.

- -- Keep your missive to one page.

- -- Copy the Legal Department, Investor Relations, CEO, Community Relations,
Corporate Media Relations and the local newspaper. Make sure all those
"Cc's" appear on the note you send to PR.

- -- Corporate names and departmental contacts are easily available via the
company's Web site or an annual report (Investor Relations sections
generally have the best listings 'cuz all those hotshots serve on board
committees). You're on your own for the local newspaper.

Corporations hate receiving mail like that. They often panic when local
media are Cc'd even though the PR pros know full well it ain't page-one news
- -- just bad, bad community relations that poisons the well when something's
needed from city hall.

Oh yeah: If you're a shareholder, make sure they know. Absolutely amazing
the rapidty of action that info ensures.

Hope this is of some use. Happy to critique and sharpen your barbs if you
decide to go the letter route.

P.S. Another option, more likely applicable for future use, is getting to
know the goons, as well as friendlier sorts. Making friends ahead of time
always serves one well (think about all the doormen, car runners, bouncers
and bartenders essential to our daily lives). Many of these folks are
interested in cameras and photography (there's a security guy here whose
photos appear in several museums and on posters you've probably seen). Some
may recommend better angles and optimum times of day, as well as grant more
access than you expected. Good luck.
