Subject: [Leica] Suitability of M& for wildlife photography

Remember that a 135mm lens is about 3X power. I have tried bird
photography with a 300mm lens, and for something as small a parrots, you
might see a blotch of red against green foliage.

I would not attempt any sort of bird photography without the longest
lens you can afford on an SLR. I put a 2X teleconverter on my 300mm
tele, and it is still difficult to get adequate closeups unless you are
in a blind of some sort. A 600mm lens (f/8) is still only 12x power, or
about 1/3 as much as binoculars.
