I really really really really really really really really really really want

to know where I can get a 0.58 finder as a spare part to put in a 0.72

Classic.

I'm told neither Leica UK nor Leica Germany will sell them as such (I've

heard of a 0.58 Classic, but that was built by purchasing a 0.58 TTL,

swapping the finder with a 0.72 Classic, and selling the resulting 0.72

TTL).

Others have told me that there are Leica distributors in other countries

that *will* sell the 0.58 finder as a spare part, but I can't get anyone to

tell me *which* distributors are doing this.>>

I have heard that the price of the .58 finder from Leica USA is $600 with a
swap of a broken .58 viewfinder. I'm not sure what other distributers do.

Now, it seems to me, that it might be easier to buy a demo or used .58 M6,
and just have Don Goldberg, Sherry or another independant repair person swap
the two finders.

So you end up with one .58 and one .72 camera and probably you can sell the
.72 and recoup a significant amount of money.

I would think this would be the most economical way of doing it, but I have
not tried it.

Rich
