Get the F1.4 if you absolutely need that extra stop or want to use the minimal DOF with the 35..... Remember that film comes in differing ASA.. and getting a film with double the ASA is the alternative to F1.4.... I had the F2 and finally got the F1.4... used the difference is only an extra $400 or so..... not too bad..... Why an extra grand? Because some of us will pay it. No other reason.
