Subject: [Leica] Difference between M3 and M6TTL .85 viewfinder sizes?

Dear All,

I have been looking at a .PDF file of an M3 manual that I downloaded. I
am curious to know why the 50mm frameline, according to the
illustration, appears to fill the M3 viewfinder almost completely and
seems to occupy a much larger proportion of the viewfinder than the
50mm frameline illustration for the M6TTL .85, as shown on the Leica
web site. I realise that the magnification of the M3 is a bit more
(0.92, if I'm not mistaken) but I wouldn't have thought it would make
that much difference. Is it because the M3 viewfinder is smaller in
area than the M6TTL?

Regards,

=====
