If you are looking for Bokeh full pictures, the 3E will fail.  It is  a
sharp lens, but has little character, IMHO.  It is, as noted already, a bit
slow for available light ( sun goes down really early in Ireland, for
instance,) at this time of year......

However, it is convenient to have a single lens for 80% of your shooting,
and supplemented by a faster lens and faster film, the combo of 2 lenses
works really well.

May I suggest the rule of doubling?  35 and 75/90, or 35/50 and 90, or 28
and 50......or the 3E plus a Summicron or Summmilux 35 or 50......  It is
not that much more weight than a single lens setup.....
