Hi Robert,

I own an R8 and use it more often than any other camera. I purchased it
for use with the unsurpassed Leica optics and also because it was not
Autofocus.

I agree with others on the list who have posted and would recommend that
you consider the 35-70 f4 over the 28-70 for your first zoom lens.
