It was to photograph a mother and her two year old child whilst the mother was on a fortnightly access visit tightly controlled by social workers and with them taking notes of the mothers actions and reactions all the time. The mother wanted some photographs for Christmas, and Social Services agreed if I was non-obtrusive and left immediately if requested to do so. I was given a maximum of half an hour. A delicate situation! I used a M6 with Motor M attached and a Vivitar 283 bounced into the ceiling and it worked like a dream. Very quiet action with minimal flash effect. After the first 3 frames the child took absolutely no notice of me at all. That Vivitar was purchased in about 1973/4 and is still going strong today. I have a Metz 45 but for this job the Vivitar was lighter and just sat on top of the camera with no problem. The thing I did learn though was that my arthritis is making it difficult to crawl around on the floor photographing a 2 year old for half an hour!
