Yes, it will work well with the M6 (though I have had to slice off the corner of the foot on my SB flashes so they will fit the Leica hotshoe well...). However, if you are buying it JUST to use on an M6, it's overkill, because a lot of functions don't work unless it's on a modern Nikon. But, if you own such Nikons as well, then it will give you good (and powerful) auto thysrister exposure, plus almost infinitely variable manual settings. Also (Kyle) I think this works on the SB28 - DON"T set it to standby, as it will go to sleep on you and not wake up until you've fired the shutter once (on a nikon, first pressure on the shutter sends a signal to do this). I've made this mistake a couple of times, as I usually set it to standby on my Nikons automatically. It's also very flexible, in terms of head movements. As well, works very well with the Sofen soft thingy as well as the lumiquests. My SB's live with the stofens on them (till the flash contracted faster than the stofen at -40c and it fell off in the snow, to be eaten by the pack of Eskimo dogs I was photographing.... - btw, the flash functioned fine at those temps...)
