[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]The following is a quote from the Leica Newsletter received a couple fo days ago by email which looks fairly positive for the future of the company: >Leica Camera AG has published the interim report for >the first half of the fiscal year 2001/2002. The main >topics are: >Leica Camera Group improves operating result in 1st >half of 2001/2002 by € 2.1 million to € 0.4 million >Temporary lack of digital cameras leads to 8.0% decline in sales to € 66.6 million >Restructuring runs according to schedule, supports profit forecast >Liabilities due to banks drop by 26.9% to € 31.7 million >You may receive detailed information at the following ?>address >http://www.leica->camera.com/unternehmen/ir/berichte/index_e.html With new digital cameras coming on line then hopefully sales will continue to improve. It is notocable that although sales of 'system' cameras showed a rise, most of this was in the Far East and sales in the US and Europe dropped markedly.
