Is this due to the batteries used (alkaline) when it should be mercury, and can this make the meter function improperly or is the meter broken? 2. Is it possible to adjust the meter for the newer alkaline batteries and in that case is that an expensive operation? ... <snip> ====================================================================== Dragi, I believe the inaccuracy in the SL meter could well be caused by using alkaline batteries. They're unlikely to damage the meter but, because the voltage drops as they are used up, they will cause it to give increasingly inaccurate readings. As a general rule, you can't get satisfactory performance from alkaline batteries in cameras. Silver oxide batteries, e.g. SR44, which are the same physical size as alkaline button cells, are the answer. They maintain a constant voltage over their lifetime. You can get a conversion unit from mercury to silver oxide cells from CrisCam, see URL http://www.criscam.com/ Regards, ===== Ray "The trouble with resisting temptation is you never know when you'll get another chance!" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
