The big problem in loading the M6 comes from extending too much film into the takeup sprocket. Just clearing the opening is enough, the takeup sprocket does not pull the film but is just a guide for the film path. If you extend the film too far into the takeup sprocket, the film will almost certainly jam because it will not enter the takeup sprocket correctly. If you study the diagram on the camera, this is the MAXIMUM the film can enter the takeup sprocket, which is about to the center. Anymore will jam the camera. Do not over attempt to center the film in the middle, as just clearing a prong is sufficient. Best regards, Bob Haight - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
