Heh, heh...  Well, we have compared prior images to some Canon, Nikon,
Pentax and Olympus primes with the same results; we just didn't take
them on this trip.

I think it helps that Cindy uses very high-end Leica, Zeiss, and Olympus
optics in her labs at work, plus she has the emotional attachment of her
father's Leica gear while growing up.  Lastly, every single family
member we share Leica images with raves about the quality, etc.

If I didn't know better, I'd say your comparison of consumer zooms to
Leica primes was calculated to give the results you wanted :)

In my case, She Who Must Be Obeyed reached the same conclusion when we
compared photos made with R primes to those made with Nikkor AIS primes.
It helps to use the new Leica glass on her projects; in my case it was
the last few months of her father's life:
