I don't have a degree in economics but just enough cynicism to conclude everything in this world is driven by the desire to make more money. Having lived in San Francisco for 6 years as a patron of various coffee houses, Irish pubs and new/used book dealers in the Bay Area a latte, pint of Red Hook, Anne Lebowitz, Wegman's dogs in drag, Adams, Mapplethorpe, etc. coffee table books are always within spitting distance. Whereas less commercial photographers don't survive the first printing. I am still kicking myself for not picking up the only copy of Gypsies I have ever seen 9 years ago. How about Sam Abell's earlier books? I don't think they are weak. Just not commerical enough to become calendar art. Ray >of the arts. All of the "chaff" produced at the same time has faded into >obscurity. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
